Chez works as a Clinical Nurse Consultant, Youth Mental Health, developing services for young people 14-25, who are at risk of or experiencing a first episode psychosis. She’s a passionate advocate for social justice and equity, and has worked in women’s health, youth health, and sexual health with disadvantaged populations.She enjoys being part of the process of changing mental health systems to be more oriented to prevention, wellbeing and recovery, and supportive of consumers and carers.
She also volunteers overseas in developing countries. She loves dogs, and own one and foster another. She is writing a PhD proposal, to explore the role of psychiatric service dogs in the recovery journey for people with mental health issues. She also does triathlons and loves working out. Her life goal is to be the crazy dog lady and work with rescue dogs to rehabilitate them using a trauma approach.
